How does this face reading work?
Chinese face reading (mian xiang) reads character from the shape of the face and its features: the outline as one of five element shapes, the brows, the eyes, the nose as the 'wealth palace', the mouth, and three zones from brows to chin. Usually a reader judges each feature by eye. Here, 478 landmarks measure them instead, and each one is compared with the middle half of real adult faces, so a typical nose reads as balanced rather than wide or slender. Your strongest features decide your face type among twelve, and how common each type is comes from 2,560 reference faces. The features behind each palace give your four fortunes, and every fortune comes with a lucky tip you can actually try: brows, eye line, hairstyle or lip color. Face reading is a tradition to enjoy, not science: your face does not decide your character or your future.

What is Chinese face reading?+

What do the three zones of the face mean?+
Face reading divides the face into an upper zone (hairline to brows), a middle zone (brows to the base of the nose) and a lower zone (nose to chin), linked with youth, working years and later life. A photo can't place the hairline reliably, so the tool compares the middle and lower zones only.
What does a wide nose mean in face reading?+
The nose is the 'wealth palace'. Full nose wings are a classic sign of good fortune with money and the energy to earn it; a slender nose is read as refinement and a careful eye for quality.
Is face reading accurate?+
No study shows that facial features predict personality or fortune. Read it like a horoscope: fun, sometimes thought-provoking, never a judgment. That's why every reading here is positive, and why we never read a feature as bad luck.
